Energy Management System(EnMS)

This standard is designed to help organizations establish the necessary systems and processes to continuously improve energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption. This standard specifies the energy management system requirements of an organization. Successful implementation of an energy management system supports an energy conservation culture for energy performance improvement. Establishing an energy-saving culture depends on the commitment of all levels of the organization, especially the top management, and is integrated with the corporate culture.

This standard applies to activities under the control of the organization. This standard may be applied appropriately according to the specific requirements of the organization, including the complexity of the system, the degree of documentation and the available resources. This standard applies to the design and procurement of facilities, equipment, systems or energy-consuming processes within the scope and boundaries of the energy management system. This standard does not apply to product use processes outside the scope and boundaries of the organization's energy management system, nor does it apply to product design outside facilities, equipment, systems and energy consumption processes.

The establishment and implementation of an energy management system, including energy policies, targets, energy targets and measures plans related to energy efficiency, energy use and energy consumption, must also comply with applicable laws, regulations and other requirements. An energy management system can help an organization set and achieve goals and energy targets, take the necessary measures to improve its energy performance, and verify that its system meets the requirements of this standard.

The effective implementation of this standard provides a systematic approach to improving energy performance so that organizations can transform the way they manage energy. By integrating energy management into business processes, organizations are able to establish processes for continuous improvement of energy performance. By improving energy performance and reducing associated energy costs, organizations are able to become more competitive. In addition, the implementation of this standard enables the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions related to its energy sources, enabling the organization to contribute to meeting the overall goal of climate change mitigation.
